WILLIAMS – Charles “Steve” Roberts, 56, Williams, passed away at 7:15 p.m. Monday, March 26, 2007, at University of Louisville Hospital due to complications from a motorcycle accident.
Born August 5, 1950, in Bedford, he was the son of Charles F. and Marjorie (McCarty) Roberts. He married Melanie Pridemore in 2002 and she survives.
Steve attended school in Mitchell and Paoli. He volunteered for the draft in 1968 and served in the US Army. He was a member of the 101st Airborne Division stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. He graduated first in his class from the School of Small Armament Repair, Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Aberdeen, Maryland.
He retired from Naval Weapons Support Center–Crane in 2000. He was the owner/operator of Budget Rebuildables and a member of ABATE.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 1, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with Bro. Darrin Chastain officiating. Burial will be in Paoli Community Cemetery with military honors accorded by Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250 and Marvin R. Davis Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.
Friends may call from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday and from noon until the service on Sunday at the funeral home.
