MITCHELL – Cheryl Ann (Slaughter) White, 63, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2025, at her residence.

Born February 16, 1962, in Salem, she was the daughter of James Henry and Ruth Elizabeth (Reynolds) Sanders Slaughter. She married Gary Wayne White on March 6, 1979, and he survives.

Cheryl was a 1980 graduate of Mitchell High School and worked at Ben Franklin and Walmart. She had the kindest heart and would help anyone. Cheryl’s favorite thing was loving on her family and raising them. She enjoyed life.

Survivors include her husband Gary White of Mitchell; sons, Gary Wayne (Christi Ramsey) White, Jr. of Peru and Joseph Allen White of Mitchell; grandchildren, Nathan Andrew White, Dustin Ramsey, Lashea Ramsey, Navy Taylor, Brody Taylor, Jory Patton, Abbie Nicole White Kimble, and Ava Leatherman; sisters, Sharon (David) Williams of Mitchell and Martha (Michael) Young of Unionville; sister-in-law, Shirley Slaughter of Pendelton; and special nephews, Chase and Hayes Redman.

Her parents and brother, Ronald W. Slaughter, preceded her in death.

Graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, at Talbott Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, at Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Cremation will follow.
