Surviving are her husband, Larry Thomas Brown of Mitchell; children, Melissa Ann (Steven) Deer of Knoxville, Tennessee and Rebecca Lynn Mason of Mitchell; grandchildren, Joshua David (Katie) Deer, Nathan Daniel Deer, Cole Thomas Mason, and Logan Patrick Mason; Great-granddaughter, Eliza Rose Deer; and brother, Kippie Joe (Vanessa) Dorsett of Mitchell.

Her parents and brother, Harry Clinton “Butch” Dorsett, preceded her in death.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 20, at Bonds Chapel with Reverend Robert Martindale officiating.  Burial will be in Spice Valley Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center and from 10:00 a.m. until the service on Monday at Bonds Chapel.

Becky, I am sorry I missed this, but I have been in sort of a fog and am just coming out of it. If God ever made a better person, I haven’t met her. Bless you and your family. Bob

God has gained a beautiful angel. Chris was such a sweet lady. She always seemed to have a smile on her face for everyone she met. I'm sure she is sharing that smile with everyone that she is now meeting in heaven. My heart and prayers go out to her family who, I know, miss her so much. She was a special lady.

I didn't know Christy well, but what I did know was great. In high school when I was in student council, we would have secret santa with some of the staff. She was mine one year and gave me some of the most delicious homemade caramels. Even though I didn't know her well, I always could tell that she was kind. Prayers for you all during this time.

Christy was exactly what was printed about her. A woman of so many talents. I wanted to be the baker she was. She was absolutely incredible at all she did. Christy made my wedding dress as well as the bridesmaids dresses. Plus she made pillows using leftover material from those dresses. So sorry for the loss of this beautiful lady.

I am so sorry for the family’s loss; I am sure she is rejoicing in Glory, and my folks are there greeting her. She was such a kind and loving person, welcomed us into her home and fed us amazing food , it was the best Thanksgiving we had in the Brown home ❤. When she came to Alaska, we all considered ourselves very blessed to have her & Larry here, Love & hugs to you all, Heaven has gained another beautiful Angel.

Oh my. This amazing lady was so influential in my teen years. She taught so many lessons in life, love and service, sometimes without speaking a single word. My heart goes out to the whole family. She's left a beautiful legacy.
