MITCHELL – Cody Todd Roberts, 29, passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2019, in Mitchell.

Born September 11, 1990, in Lawrence County, he was the son of Ronnie Todd Roberts and Monica Nikki Lynn (Pruett) Gratzer.

Cody was a self-employed mechanic and a 2009 graduate of Mitchell High School.  He was a volunteer firefighter for the City of Mitchell and enjoyed cars, trucks, fishing, and hunting.  Cody attended the Mitchell Church of the Nazarene.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, December 30, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center.  Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the service on Monday at the funeral home.

    My heart has never felt such deep pain for the loss of a friend. Cody was genuine. He has a big heart and alot of love for his children. I wish with all of my heart I had taken his offer up when he asked me to go out on a dinner date with him. Its going to take a long time to accept him being gone he just did not deserve this!! If i had just one wish for anything in the world I would wish for this to have never happened and he would still be the sweet Cody randomly asking me if I'm okay when he wasn't.     I was in Vocational School with Cody we never really got to hangout much outside of school but we did have a lot of fun during school then after we graduated he went off to college and kind of lost touch since other than social media of course. Miss ya buddy gone but never forgotten.

    Cody was my daughters exhusband but he was like my son he was a very hard worker we worked together on the road doing construction we roomed together worked together was rarely apart except for when we would go home he called me pops and I loved him like a son .I will miss him dearly.
