MITCHELL — Dale Allen Stroud, 73, passed away at 7:10 a.m. Sunday, December 2, 2012, at his residence.

Born September 26, 1939, in Bedford, he was the son of Ermel Roy and Ethel Mae (Carter) Stroud. He married Mary Lou McQuown Janury 23, 1960.

He had been employed as a truck driver for D. A. Lubricant in Indianapolis. Dale was a fan of Go Cart Racing, basketball, and owner of Country Candles.

He was a U. S. Navy veteran and a member of American Legion Post No. 250.

His parents and brother, Rick Stroud, preceded him in death.

Funeral service will be at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 4, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Rev. Steve Jones officiating. Military honors will be accorded by American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107. A reception will follow the service at the American Legion Post No. 250.

Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. until the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Cremation was chosen.

    I remember before your Dad and Mom moved back to Mitchell and he would call Doug and tell him the most hillarious stories. So sad for your family, I am sure he will be missed.
