BEDFORD Dale E. Fox, 72, Bedford, passed away at 12:15 a.m. Saturday, May 1, 2010, at his residence surrounded by his family.
Born February 8, 1938, in Mitchell, he was the son of Ray and Gladys (Edwards) Fox. He married Phyllis Harshaw in 1957, and was united in marriage to Lois (McClellan) Ragsdale in 1985.
Dale retired from Mitchell Community Schools and was a member of Hillcrest Christian Church. He graduated from Mitchell High School in 1957.
He was a veteran of the Indiana National Guard and a member of Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250.

His parents; sister, Margaret Ann Fox; and stepmother, Gertrude (Jeffries) Fox, preceded him in death. Following his mother’s death, he became very close to two special people who were an influence in his life, Gene and Ruth Pruett.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 4, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with Brother Charlie Scott officiating. Burial will be in Cresthaven Memory Gardens with military honors accorded by Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250 and Marvin R. Davis Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.
Friends may call from 3:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, and from 9:30 a.m. until the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Donations in Dale’s memory may be made to Liberty Baptist Cemetery Fund or Spice Valley Baptist Cemetery Fund in care of the funeral home.
