MITCHELL – Debra Jean Unger, a loving daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away at 4:00 a.m. Sunday, October 28, 2012, at her residence.
Born February 18, 1952, in Bloomington, she was the daughter of Robert E. and Evelyn J. (Goble) Hamm. She married George M. Unger July 19, 1971.
Debbie was a seamstress, a culinary arts instructor at Ivy Tech, and formerly an activities director at Mitchell Manor. She was a member of Fishing Creek Chapel, president of Gamma Epsilon Chapter of Tri Kappa, and past president of the Christian Women’s Club. Debbie designed and made costumes for the theater productions at Madison Consolidated High School and was named an Honorary Thespian. She graduated from Spencer High School in 1970. All of those visiting her home were welcomed.

Her mother preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 31, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Bro. Tom Bostic officiating. Burial will be in Talbott Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:30 a.m. until the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
A Tri Kappa memorial service will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
