BEDFORD Dennis “Dink” Burgess, 86, Bedford, passed away at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, April 19, 2009, at his residence.

Born June 28, 1922, in Mitchell, he was the son of Milton and Eula (Richardson) Burgess. He married Barbara Joreen Mann April 24, 1954, and she preceded him in death December 14, 2008.

He retired from RCA and was a member of the Bride of Christ Fellowship.

He was a US Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250 and Marvin R. Davis Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.

Tamara Denise Mantsch, Indianapolis

several great grandchildren

His parents; wife; sisters, Bonnie Stalcup, Dorothy Burgess, and infant sister; and brothers, Kermit, Solon, Cecil, and Clyde Burgess preceded him in death.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 22, in the Bride Of Christ Fellowship with Brother Jerry Allen officiating. Burial will in Mitchell Cemetery with military honors accorded by Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250 and Marvin R. Davis Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.

Friends may call from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Chastain Funeral Home and from 10:00 a.m. until the service on Wednesday at the church.
