MITCHELL Derek D. Harrison, 47, 10 Harrison Road, Mitchell, passed away at 6:30 a.m. Friday, January 25, 2008, at his residence.
Born September 19, 1960 in Bedford, he was the son of Robert and Margaret (McAfee) Harrison. He married Jyl Ann Ziegler October 15, 1983.
He was a registered respiratory therapist and was employed at Bloomington Hospital. He graduated from Loogootee High School in 1978.
He was a U. S. Marine Corps veteran and a member of Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250.

His mother, Margaret Harrison; and stepson, Ronald Allen, Jr., preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 29, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery with military honors accorded by Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250 and Marvin R. Davis Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.
Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Monday and from 9:00 a.m. until the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Casketbearers will be from the 4th Infantry Division, Easy Company and 44th Tennessee Volunteer Infantry.
