MITCHELL – Dixiana June “Dixie” DeVault, 72, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2020, at her residence.

Born June 11, 1947, in Elwood, she was the daughter of Richard Eugene and Lucille Emma (Coffman) Feighner.  She was married to Jackie W. Griggs who preceded her in death April 21, 1995. On May 21, 2007, she married Mark Randal DeVault and he preceded her in death October 14, 2013.

Dixie was a certified nursing assistant and had been employed at Bedford Regional Medical Center.  She was a member of Woodville Baptist Church and enjoyed cooking and traveling.  Dixie was a lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary.

She loved her grandkids and great grandkids.  Dixie was the backbone of the family with a genuine servant’s heart.

Her father; mother and stepfather, Lucille and Robert Leroy Fletcher; husband, Jackie Griggs; husband, Mark DeVault;  and brother, James “Timmy” Fletcher, preceded her in death.

Graveside service was Tuesday, April 28, at Mitchell Cemetery. Reverend Glenn Hamer officiated.

The family sincerely thanks Heart to Heart Hospice for their generosity and care.

    Sending healing prayers and comforting hugs.Dixie was a lovely caring person who always cared for others more that her self. I have the some of my best memories of working with Dixie from our homecare years in the 1980s. We enjoyed knowing her most of our adult lives and she was a real jewell.
