MITCHELL Donald A. Buck, 83, Mitchell, died at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, April 2, 2009, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born March 14, 1926, in Lafayette, Indiana, he was the son of John B. and Reba (McCormick) Buck He married Margaret Jean (Peggy) German on October 9, 1949.

He was a graduate of Jackson Township High School, an army veteran of World War II–Pacific Theatre, a member of Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250 and Marvin R. Davis Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9107. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Lawrence County Cattlemens Association. Don was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bedford.

His parents; brother, James Buck, and a nephew, John W. Buck, preceded him in death.

Funeral service will be at 7:00 p.m. Monday, April 6, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with Rev. Beth Ann Cook and Rev. Rick Bell officiating. Military honors will be accorded by American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No.9107.

Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, in Elmwood Cemetery at Romney, Indiana.

Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. until the service on Monday at the funeral home.
