MITCHELL – Donald Eugene Nolan, 92, passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at his residence.

Born November 29, 1929, in Indianapolis, he was the son of Ralph and Kathryn (Burton) Nolan.  He married Hilda Tyree December 2, 1950 and she preceded him in death November 27, 1987.

Donald was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.  He was a 1947 Mitchell High School graduate.  Donald was a member of the Mitchell Masonic Lodge No. 228 F.&A.M., the LA-OR-MA Shrine Club, and the American Legion Post No. 250. 

Surviving are his daughters, Anita Cornwell of Avon and Lou Ann (Tom) Jenkins of Charlestown; grandchildren, Matthew (Melissa) Cornwell, Mark Cornwell, Hilari (Jake) Justice, Kaysi Jenkins, and Zachary Jenkins; great-grandchildren, Jeffrey Cornwell, Dylan Justice, Jaxen Justice, River Justice, and Scout Justice; and sisters, Carolyn Sims of Whiteland and Judy Woods of Ohio.

His parents; wife; son, David Nolan; grandson, Adam Cornwell; and sister, Martha Lois Tritle preceded him in death.

Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, September 12 in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Lee Hupp officiating.  Burial will be at Cresthaven Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the service on Monday at the funeral home.

    He was extremely good person. I have known him for many years. He sold me my first insurance policy, I was 19 and am now 77. Our prayers and thoughts are with you all.

    So many fond memories of Donnie here in Florida, hadn’t saw him in years and was our back door neighbor here. Boat rides, out to dinner, shopping trips, and cooking us some wonderful meals. Will miss our talks at Christmas time catch-up. Thanks for the great times and all you did for us. Loved you Don. God Bless your Family. Sending our sincere condolences.
