MITCHELL Donald G. Parsons, 71, Mitchell, passed away at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at his residence.
Born April 17, 1939, in Lawrence County, he was the son of William and Gladys (Barlow) Parsons.
He retired from Naval Surface Warfare CenterCrane.
He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 9, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with Merle Mullins officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery with military honors accorded by American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.
Friends may call from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday and from 9:30 a.m. until the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
