BEDFORD – Donald L. Roberts, 75, Bedford, passed away at 4:40 a.m. Monday, January 7, 2008, at Westview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Bedford.
Born December 8, 1932, in Bedford, he was the son of Lee and Clara (Adamson) Roberts. He married Wilma Hayes July 4, 1954.
Don was considered the oldest new and used car salesman in Lawrence County. He sold Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, Pontiac, Buick, and Jeep as well as late model used cars at Don Roberts Enterprises. He drove stock cars and announced at local racetracks. He was an avid NASCAR fan as well as a Pacers, Colts, and IU fan.
He served in the Army National Guard A50-60 and was a graduate of Shawswick High School.

His parents; brothers, Skip and Jerry Roberts; and sister, Barbara Jean Roberts, preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 10, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Williams officiating. Burial will be in Crawford Cemetery with military honors accorded by Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250 and Marvin R. Davis Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.
Friends may call from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:00 a.m. until the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
