MITCHELL Donald M. Tolliver, 87, Mitchell, passed away at 11:35 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at Bedford Regional Medical Center.
Born August 19, 1921, in Brownstown, he was the son of John Irvin and Verna May (Mathers) Tolliver. He married Carol Rae Tharp October 5, 1946, and she preceded him in death September 27, 1996.
He retired from Lehigh Cement Company in September of 1983 with 37 years of service, and was a member of the First Baptist Church. Don played four years of basketball for Brownstown High School and graduated in 1939. He was a loyal IU Basketball fan.
He was a U. S. Air Force veteran of World War II, and a member of Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250.

His parents; wife; and sisters, Lourin Endwright, Mab Griffith, Eulah Holcomb, and Frances Kamman, preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 11, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with Pastor Roland Holtsclaw, Brother Frank Johnson and Brother Russell Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery with military honors accorded by Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250 and Marvin R. Davis Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.
Friends may call from 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Friday and from 9:30 a.m. until the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
