MITCHELL – Donna Louise Timbrook, 86, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at Stonebridge Health Campus.

Born May 2, 1939, in Allen County, she was the daughter of Ross Bolton and Mary Louise (Sunday) Knapp.  Donna married Max Timbrook on September 14, 1956.

Donna loved her family and took deep pride in each of them.  To her family, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandma, and “Gigi”, roles she carried with honor and joy.  Her life was rooted in a deep and steady love for God, and she lived that love out quietly and faithfully through the way she showed up for others.  In everyday moments, Donna served and encouraged everyone she encountered. Her legacy is one of love, faithfulness, and service.

A longtime member of Tulip Street Christian Church, she poured her heart into ministry alongside Max. She spread her gift of sewing with the creation of the So & Sews Women’s Ministry.  Her love for music led her to form Christians Unlimited, performing at various conventions and churches. She took her love for music to preschoolers as a co-owner of Kid’s Corner Preschool and was a member of Fleur de Lis.  Donna reflected the love of Christ in ways that will be remembered. She will be dearly missed.

Surviving are her husband, Max Timbrook of Mitchell; children, Jill Leslie (Thomas) McDermott, Jan Louise (Joe) Martin, Joseph Lee Timbrook, and Kathy (Jim) Cornwell; grandchildren, Sally (Randy) Leyes, Eric Morse, Bridget (Shaun) Stapleton, Lindsay (Spencer) Montei, Kevin (Shannon) Martin, Natalie Morse (Brooke Faulkner), Taylor Timbrook (Tim Mattingly), Debbie (Steve) Crews, Andrew Cornwell, and Michael Cornwell; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Her parents; daughter, Jennifer Lynn Timbrook; great-grandson, Benjamin Joseph Mattingly; and seven brothers and sisters, preceded her in death.

The family would like to thank the caregivers at Stonebridge for their exceptional care, love, and support.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 31, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Brothers Darrin Chastain and Daniel Lee officiating.  Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 30, and from 10:00 a.m. until the service on Saturday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to Becky’s Place or Hope Resource Center.

I am so sorry for your grief, but I know it is grief through smiles and hope and joy. Donna was a joy to be around, and for me as a young preacher, she was the ultimate encourager! Her influence will be felt for generations, her legacy of Christ-likeness intact and so very real and humble and gracious. I love you all - you are wonderful testimonies to her legacy!
