MITCHELL – Richard Bryan Longest, 58, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2026, at IU Health Hospice House.

Born February 3, 1968, in Paoli, he was the son of Richard Oliver and Linda Kay (Knight) Longest.

Bryan was a member of The Bride of Christ Fellowship.  He loved music – writing songs and playing his guitar.  Bryan also enjoyed drawing.  He loved being an uncle and great-uncle.

Surviving are his siblings, Rebecca (Tony) George of Mitchell, Melinda (Billy) Edmonson of Mitchell, and Eva Dicks of Mitchell; nieces and nephews, Chris George, Kayla George, Austin Longest, Nicole (Robert) Allen, Destiny (Cody) Garrison, Marah Roop, and Davaney Roop; and several great nieces and nephews.

His parents and infant sister, Susan Longest, preceded him in death.

Cremation has been chosen.  A Celebration of Life service will be held 3:00 p.m. Thursday, March 5, at The Bride of Christ Fellowship.

    I met Bryan years ago when he was my neighbor. He was very fun to talk to and had a heart of gold. Im thankful that I got the chance to know him. He was very unique ans we shared a love for music. It's hard to believe that he's gone. RIP Bryan and God bless your family.

    I am very thankful to have met Bryan, when I did. He was very polite, I enjoyed our brief casual conversations as we passed one another in the walkway, as well as his baking goodies! Absolutely delicious!! Bryan will be missed, very much so.

    Bryan longest was a great cousin everyone wanted someone like him. He was loving passion man who thought the world of his who family. Bryan started young playing guitar with are Uncle Buck . Uncle Buck was was a great teacher to Bryan longest and myself. Bryan was more like a brother to me then a cousin.i will never forget you Bryan and I will always have you close to my heart . I love you and it's not good bye Bryan it's I'll see you again bub .
