MITCHELL Donovan Blanton, 78, Mitchell, passed away at 10:25 p.m.
Sunday, February 4, at Dunn Memorial Hospital.
Born March 16, 1928, in Harlan County, Kentucky, he was the son of Jonathan Jack and Mellie (Howard) Blanton. He married Katherine Turpin October 27, 1945, and she preceded him in death January 7, 2001.
He was a retired stonecutter and had worked for Ingalls Stone Company and Summitt-Evans Stone Company. He was a member of Faith Mission Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; sister, Eula Wray; and brother, Cecil Blanton.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 8, at Faith Mission Church with Rev. Leonard Sankey officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4:00-8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Chastain Funeral Home and from 9:30 a.m. until the service hour at the church.
