BEDFORD – Dwain Benjamin Allbright, 72, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2025, at Indiana University Health Hospice House.
Born June 8, 1952, in Daviess County, he was the son of Oscar Benjamin and Elizabeth “Betty” Jacquline (Tow) Allbright. He married Rebecca Ann Gress on August 18, 1973 and she survives.
Dwain was a 1970 graduate of Shoals High School. He served in the Indiana National Guard and retired from National Gypsum. Dwain enjoyed driving his grandkids around the field on his tractor.
Surviving are his wife, Rebecca Ann Allbright of Bedford; children, Scott Benjamin (Patricia) Allbright of Columbus, Christopher Lee Allbright of Bedford, Theresa Ann Kyker of Bedford, John Robert Allbright of Bedford, Phillip Andrew Allbright of Bedford, and April Elizabeth (Kyle) Corns of Bedford; grandchildren, Gavyn Asbury, Grady Allbright, Evan Allbright, Haylee Kyker, Kaylee Kyker, and Michael Allbright; step-grandchildren, Mathew, Christopher, Avy and Nolan; and brother, David Robert (Carla) Allbright of Mitchell.
His parents and brother, Ryan Allbright, preceded him in death.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 23, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father John Hall and Deacon Dave Reising officiating. Burial will be at Mitchell Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center. The Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m.
