FORT MYERS, FLORIDA – Earl Lincoln Padgett, 85, formerly of Mitchell, passed away Saturday, December 4, 2021, at 3:40 a.m.

Born February 12, 1936, in Mitchell, he was the son of Ollis and Lilly M. (Davis) Padgett.  He married Velma Ritchison on March 14, 1959.

Earl retired from Lehigh Cement Company and served on the Mitchell Fire Department 28 years.  He was a member of the Mitchell Church of Christ and Gulf Coast Church of Fort Myers.  Earl was a 1955 graduate of Mitchell High School and an avid IU fan.

He is survived by his loving wife, Velma Padgett of Fort Myers, Florida

                      daughter, Tamara Lee of  Florence, South Carolina and son-in-law, Randy Lee

                   grandsons, Jonathon Lee of Bedford, Indiana and his daughter, Alexis

                                    Juston Lee of Spanish Fort, Alabama and his wife Cara

and their children, Danielle, Josiah, Willow and Beau

His parents and brother, Robert, preceded him in death.

Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 14, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Brother Allen Burris officiating.  Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
