BEDFORD – Eddie Gene Wray, 65, passed away Saturday, August 28, 2021, at Ascension St. Vincent Dunn Hospital in Bedford.

Born January 14, 1956, in Bedford, he was the son of Ralph K. and Ruth “Curly” (Webster) Wray.  He married Tammie Jo Troxel May 5, 2000.

Eddie was a Classic Bulk Carriers truck driver.  He graduated from Mitchell High School in 1974 and was a member of Bedford Boat and Sportsman Club.

Eddie was a U. S. Army veteran of the Persian Gulf War and Indiana National Guard.

His parents, and siblings, Robert D. Wray and Susie Martin, preceded him in death.

Graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 3,at Mitchell Cemetery with Delbert Wray officiating. Military honors will be accorded by American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.

    Tammie, I was so sorry to hear of Eddies passing. He was a huge part of my growing up. All the Wray brothers were. Such a great man and family. They were like home to me. A huge part of Mitchell. I am so glad I got to see you both at the last reunion and had so much with Ed. His personality and sweet humor will be remembered always. Love you.

    I met Eddie 43 years ago, while we were stationed Mannheim, Germany. We played music together, dated together, and just had a good time together. He is my best friend, and I'll miss him.

    I have known Eddie since we were kids growing up at Woodville Baptist Church. He could always make those around him laugh. There was never a dull moment when you were around Eddie. He never met a stranger. He was one of my favorite ppl from my Sunday School memories. I will always remember him as a very dear friend.
