MUNSTER – Elder Charles Carl Murphy, Sr.,72, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 30, 2013.

Born April 26, 1941, in Terre Haute, he was the son of Charles Monroe and Thelma Lillian Murphy.

He was a member and Pastor of Monroe Primitive Baptist Church in Michigan.

Surviving:          wife, Lillie M. Murphy, Munster
                   children, Charles Carl Murphy, Jr., Bedford
                                 Flora Lillian Murphy
                                 Angela (Charles) Shipley, Manila, Arkansas
                                 Jackie Clapp, Terre Haute
                       sister, Betty Lanning, Terre Haute
                    brother, Richard Murphy, Clinton

 He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Wanona Rose Murphy, Patricia Burns, Selma Daugherty and Vickie Jones; and brothers, Daniel Lee Murphy and George Burton Murphy.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 6, at Lost River Primitive Baptist Church in Campbellsburg with Elder Joseph Humphries and Elder Cecil Coy officiating.  Burial will be in Lost River Primitive Baptist Cemetery with military honors.

Friends may call from 2:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday at Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Mitchell and from 1:00 p.m. until the service on Monday at the church.

    So many wonderful years of friendship & fellowship of our dear Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ spent together dear brother Chuck. You will be immensely missed.     I have lots of memories of Uncle Chuck that I will always hold dear to my heart. He was a very loving Uncle and would always go out of his way for anyone. We shared lots of laughter my whole life and he will be greatly missed. I love you so much Uncle Chuck
