I met Elsie when I worked at Dunn Memorial Hospital, she would always stop by my office to say hello when she came in, I loved her sweet smile and her cheery greetings. I also knew John from working there and graduated with Gary at MHS in 1964. Please accept my condolences for your loss.

For all of us that grew up with Anna, Gary(Butch), and Dawn, we truly did have a Mom in Elsie. Fond memories are what I have for the Harveys. Elsie always made N 7th St. home for me. Elsie, thank you so much for all of the goodness from your heart. I will miss your smile and the laughter of our countless visits. "Where the Roses never Fade"

I have lived on 7th Street my whole life. Elsie is the last of the wonderful ladies that lived in this little part o f heaven. I have wonderful memories of her and her family. Last summer i purchased the bicycle she would ride around town. An era has passed from our little street. Hope all the ladies from 7th Street are enjoying a coffee klutch in heaven. My deepest sympathy to her family.

My sympathy to the family. I have known Elsie since my brothers played sports with Gary, and for the last 22 years at Mitchell First Baptist Church. More recently, she was always in the front row when we did monthly services at Mitchell Manor. Although her health was not good, she always had a smile and a cheerful greeting. She was a special lady who will be missed by many.

Like my some of my classmates said above, Elsie was my "Second Mom" too. I will miss her and cherish her thoughts, her generosity, and her smile. She was a special person. Hers was always the house that welcomed you after school for some treats or even one of her special baked hamburgers if you were lucky. The world is a lesser place with her passing. I extend my condolences to all who knew her.

I ate dinner with the Harvey's perhaps more than at home while in high school. Gary and I were great friends. I told Elsie I owed her for four years of meals and should be buying her steak dinners at the Legion. What great friends--I miss them much.

Hey Mom... I may not have been mentioned in your obituary, but I know that you knew I loved you, and you loved me too. . Thanks for being my "mom" for 20 years. If I could be with you, we'd be sharing a baked hamburger and you might even give up the recipe!. I wanted to be with for your birthday, but I know you wanted to be with Gary and Anna. Tell them I love and miss them. I will always be a Harvey and we'll see each other soon

Wish I could be there. Grandma will be missed. I am so glad that we did have time to visit when I was home. I have been thinking of all the fun times that I shared with her and grandpa.

Rhea Dawn - There is no worse time than the loss of a mother. Your mom was truly one of the most open and giving human beings I have ever met. I am so blessed that I was able to spend so much time with her in the 1960's. A second Mom she was! I have learned life-long lessons through her kindness and in her memory, I will walk through life with a bigger heart. I will be here for you every day, for as long as you need me my friend. I love you.

Elsie was such a beautiful lady and loved by so many. Gary was my best friend growing-up and Elsie was a second Mom. Gary and I where a little wild when we were young (hard to believe, I know) and when caught doing a wrong, she once sent me home telling me that she would call my Mom; I waited for three days for the call that never came! She always told me that she knew that I would suffer more than a whipping by not making the call. She and I recalled this incident many years after the fact. She was a SPECIAL lady! She will be missed. May God Bless the Family.
