ORLEANS – Elwanda Humphreys, 90, passed away at 3:30 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 2014, at White River Lodge in Bedford.

Born October 27, 1923, in Burkley, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Charles and Margaret Etta (Nicholas) Evans. She married Hollie Leland Humphreys July 1, 1939, and he preceded her in death February 22, 1999.

Besides her role of homemaker, she worked at Trav-Ler Radio Corporation. She was a nurse’s aide, and employed in hospital food service before becoming a QMA to work in private home health care. She loved her family, especially the babies!

 Hollie Lee (Lesa) Humphreys, Orleans

 11 Grandchildren
 20 Great grandchildren
 1 Great great granddaughter

Her parents; husband; and three brothers and four sisters, preceded her in death.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 15, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Pastor Lindy Hopkins officiating. Burial will be in Talbott Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday and from 9:00 a.m. until the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
