MITCHELL – Frances B. Harrison, 98, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at Indiana University Health Hospice House.
Born February 7, 1926, in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Mark and Ethel (Brown) Beasley. She married John B. Harrison on August 7, 1943 and he preceded her in death November 17, 2005.
Frances was a very talented and creative lady. She was a loving wife, wonderful mother, and doting grandmother. She was an amazing homemaker. She enjoyed creating crafts, gardening, and spent many hours planting and tending to her beautiful flowers. Her prize tomatoes were a special joy for her.
Frances had a special heart for caregiving for many during her lifetime, which included trying to help give direction and guidance to a multitude of neighborhood children through the years. Her help and kitchen were always open. The greatest caregiving in later life was the wonderful, loving care she gave to the love of her life, John B., to whom she gave complete devotion.
Frances was of Christian faith.
Survivors include her children, Donald E. (Virginia) Harrison of Bedford, Nancy Jo (Phil) Powell of Greenwood, and Mark T. (Judy) Harrison of Mitchell; grandchildren, Ryan (Amy) Powell, Kyle (Kaili) Powell, Natalie Smith, and Shanna (Chalk) Saunders; and great grandchildren, Reinyn Clute, Koltyn Clute, Abby Powell, Emmy Powell, Cadence Powell, Daxton Powell, Ellie Espey, and Lilly Espey.
Her parents; daughter in infancy, Charlotte Ann Harrison; great-grandson, Reid Powell; and siblings, Walter Beasley and Mellie Quakenbush, preceded her in death.
Private graveside service will be at a later date.
