MITCHELL — Freda Scheibe, 70, passed away at 1:08 a.m. Saturday, August 17, 2013, at Mitchell Manor Living and Rehabilitation Center.

Born June 6, 1943, in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Fred Schmitt and Manilla (Tatlock) Maudlin.

Freda retired from GE and was a former member of the First Christian Church and Phi Beta Psi Sorority.

 Julie Dawn Kidd, Oolitic

Her father preceded her in death.

Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 23, at Mitchell Cemetery.

    A beautiful lady, inside and out. My earlier prayer was for angels to watch over her and bear her up when she rose into The Light of The Son. May those angels now comfort and guide those she left behind. We cannot but grieve losing our loved ones, even though they have no more pain and are happy living in the Light of the One God. For, oh, what a hole is left in our life. The Lord look upon you and comfort you, may His Light shine upon you.

    I've known Freida for many years. She always had a smile and was willing to do whatever she could to help someone. My deepest sympathy to her family. She will be missed by all that had the privilege of knowing her. God has called a special angel home.

    Thinking of the family and all her many friends at this very sad time. I have many fond memories of Freda as my neighbor on Tulip Street, as a fellow employee of GE and as her friend. I will miss her laughter, her smile and her wit. She had a way of making you feel important and welcomed no matter the situation.     I loved Freda very much, and I know sorrow is a fleeting emotion, but love is infinite. I am so sadness for her lovely daughter and handsome son....and other family members, May God help you all to get through this loss. She was a lovely, wonderful lady, so kind and giving to others.
