MITCHELL – Frederick Eugene Hopper, 74, passed away at 4:36 a.m. Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital.

Born April 20, 1939, in Orange County, he was the son of James Homer and Martha Ellen (Pridemore) Hopper. He was previously married to Mildred Burlington.

Fred retired as a security guard with Blake Security in Odessa, Texas.

Surviving:   daughter, Penny Stidham, Mitchell
                         son, William Frederick Hopper, Mitchell
                                 7 grandchildren
                                 5 great grandchildren
                    brother, Wendell Hopper, Mitchell

His parents; son, Steven Eugene Hopper; and siblings, James Hopper, Raymond Hopper, and LaDonna Hopper, preceded him in death.

Cremation was chosen.

There will be no visitation at Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center.

I met Fred when I came to IN in 1990 and he was such a funny guy and a good friend. My grandchildren grew up with him riding them around on his wheelchair and him telling them of the native American customs and traditions. He was loved by many and will be greatly remembered and missed by all. We love you Fred and RIP friend.
