Garlan W. WeltonPassing: October 25, 2005

MITCHELL – Garlan W. Welton, 96, Mitchell, passed away at 3:20 p.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2005, at White River Lodge, Bedford.

Born December 6, 1908, in Westville, he was the son of James T. and Margaret (Ziegler) Welton. He married Amelia Zehr and she preceded him in death. He then married Viola Brock September 24, 1977, and she preceded him in death August 19, 1980.

He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II, a retired employee of Carpenter Body Works, and a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church at Dubois Crossing.

Paula Parson, Mitchell
stepson, Phil Wigley, Mitchell

His parents, both wives, and sisters, Emma Margaret Welton and Joan Bailey, preceded him in death.

Graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 29, at St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery with Chaplain Lee Hupp officiating. Military honors will be accorded by Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250 and Marvin R. Davis Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.
