BEDFORD – Garnett Mundy, 105, formerly of Huron, passed away Saturday, November 6, 2021, at Garden Villa Nursing Home.

Born April 3, 1916, in Martin County, she was the daughter of  Frank and Rachel (McCart) Mundy.  She married Harris R. Mundy June 2, 1934, and he preceded her in death March 14, 1988.

Garnett retired from M. Fine & Son. She was a member of Pleasant View Church of Christ and the Huron WTK Club.  Garnett was an excellent quilter and loved reading.

Janice L. (Don) White of Bedford

grandchildren,

Mike Miller, Barry White, Terry White, and Lisa Holmes

ten great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren

Her parents; husband; daughter, Donna J. Miller; granddaughter, Renee Rutherford; and sisters, Irene Purlee and Doris Wilson, preceded her in death.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 11, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Brother Cecil Smith officiating.   Burial will be in Huron Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:30 a.m. until the service on Thursday at the funeral home.

    Garnett was truly one of the best people I have ever met. She was such a bright light and a wonderful source of encouragement. I will miss her dearly. The quiet life lessons I learned from her will go with me for the rest of my life. I am a better person because of Garnett. Heaven has gained a wonderful gift and Earth will never be the same. I loved her-I always will.

    Such fond memories of Garnett and Harris. Many fun Sunday afternoons parlaying crocret, eating homemade ice cream and having great conversations with two great people. Sadly those type of neighbors and good time have left us. Garnett and Harris-a legacy I am sure there is a wonderful reunion in Heaven.
