PUNTA GORDA, FL Glenda Sue Geyer, 61, formerly of Mitchell, passed away October 8, 2011.

Born November 9, 1949, in Mitchell, she was the daughter of Lowell and Betty (Cook) Wood. She married Mark D. Geyer October 10, 1970.

Glenda graduated from Mitchell High School in 1967. She retired from the WalMart Distribution Center in Punta Gorda. Her hobbies included boating, fishing, hunting, billiards, crafts, and gardening.

A family graveside service will be Thursday at Cresthaven Memory Gardens.

Friends may call from 3:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Chastain Funeral Home.

    I was so sorry to hear about Glenda. I hadn't seen her for many many years, but my twin sister and I spent quite a few times at the Woods house back in grade school days. I still remember the old player piano, her handsome brother Alan and so many fond memories of her parents. As I recall we had such great times then. Memories really do last a lifetime and I'm so glad to have known Glenda.
