BEDFORD – Glenn Laverne Edwards, 88, passed away Friday, September 13, 2019, at StoneBridge Health Campus.

Born April 18, 1931, in Mitchell, he was the son of Shelva and Rose Ann (Bex) Edwards.  He married Margaret Irma Lane June 10, 1950.

Glenn repaired industrial sewing machines and retired from M. Fines and Sons.  He operated Edwards Sewing Repair Shop for 50 years.  Glenn loved mushroom hunting, tinkering, yard work, and attending the sporting events of his grandchildren.  His family was the love of his life.  Glenn was a member of the Free Methodist Church.

His parents; brothers, James W. Edwards and Floyd Edwards; and half-sister Flossie Milligan, preceded him in death.

Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 17, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Reverend Reed Beard officiating.  Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.

    Mr. Edwards always had a smile on his face. He was so lucky to have a wonderful wife and daughters. I remember him from my days at Shawswick. May God bless his family now and forever.

    Margaret, Teresa, Julie and family, so very sorry to find out about Glenn’s passing. He was so very fun to be around. The thing I remember most about him was how mischievous he was! And he knew he was because he would just laugh after doing something. Please know that he has provided many people a lot of fond memories. I hope the shared memories somehow bring you joy and peace in celebrating his life.
