BEDFORD – Helen Marie Rager, 84, passed away at 3:37 a.m. Monday, August 25, 2014, at her residence.

Born April 15, 1930, in Mitchell, she was the daughter of Hayden and Muriel (Clouse) Brewer.  She married Robert “Bob” Rager April 15, 1968, and he preceded her in death October 7, 2009.

Helen was a beautician and a member of the Work of God and the Bedford Organ Club.

Her parents and husband preceded her in death.

Friends may call from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 27, at Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center. 

Cremation will follow.

    Helen and I met at Curves and it was an immediate friendship. Helen Marie was my mother's name so that made her even more special. She and I have remained friends through the years since I moved from Mitchell, moved to Florida and even lived in Germany for a couple of years. We emailed, sent cards and planned to meet this week for the first time in 12 years. I will always hold a special place in my heart for her. She was a fine lady and I will miss our contacts via email and cards. I know she was so proud of her family and I will keep you all in my prayers. MAY YOU FIND PEACE IN GOD'S LOVING ARMS AT THIS TIME,
