ORLEANS – Imogene Ruth Powell, 93, passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at StoneBridge Health Campus in Bedford.

Born October 15, 1927, in Martin County, she was the daughter of Joseph O. and Ruby C. (Bridges) Barlow.  She married George Robert “Bob” Powell April 17, 1948, and he preceded her in death August 13, 2013.

Imogene was a homemaker and a member of Liberty Baptist Church.

Michael (Deb) Powell of Mitchell

15 great-grandchildren
  2 great-great grandchildren

Her parents; husband; and siblings, Dale Barlow, Robert Barlow, and JoAnnWalther, preceded her in death.

Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m.  Friday, April 23, at Liberty Baptist Church with David Powell officiating.  Burial will be in Liberty Baptist Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center, and from noon until the service on Friday at the church.
