MITCHELL – James William White, 88, passed away Wednesday morning, January 6, 2016, at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville.
Born December 30, 1927, in Huron, he was the son of Opal and Leafy Agnes (Burton) White. He married Aletha L. Jones December 24, 1955, and she preceded him in death April 22, 2004.
James retired from Otis Elevator and was a U. S. Army veteran. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 250 and was a NASCAR fan.

His parents; wife; son, Tony Wayne White; brothers, Harold White and Robert White; sister, Ruth Ann White; and grandchildren, William Joshua White, Shane Partick Stannard, Lena Rose Corps, Wade Dorsett, and Jermiah Zeigenbein, preceded him in death.
Cremation was chosen. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 9, at Haverly Funeal Chapel. Burial will be at a later date in Mitchell Cemetery with military honors accorded by American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.
