BEDFORD – Janet S. (Dietz) Pierce, 87, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at Majestic Care of Bedford.

Janet was born December 29, 1938.  She married Kelsie E. Pierce, and he preceded her in death on April 22, 2025.  Janet had previously worked at Dunn Memorial Hospital.

Surviving are her sons, Greg Pierce of Bedford  and Byron Ira of Oolitic; grandchildren, Les-Paul Couch, Taylor Ira, Byron Ira, Jr., Melissa Cody, and Damian Chapman; and great-grandchildren, Krue, and Kylie, Jamison Miles Cody, and Kadance Kylie Cody.

Her husband; daughter, Melanie Burner; son, Kevin Pierce; and granddaughter, Kylie, preceded her in death.

Cremation has been chosen.

    Janet was my dance teacher in the 50's. She was always so nice and plenty of patience. I still have lots of pictures of us together. I was so sorry to learn of her passing. I haven't seen her in years. Prayers for the family.
