BEDFORD – Jerry Conrad George, 88, passed away Friday, August 6, 2021, at his home.

Born October 26, 1932, in Lawrence County, he was the son of Homer Marshall and Hazel (Ritchison) George.  He married Cloie Ellen (Brown) Stigall October 9, 1982.

Jerry retired from Duke Energy.  He was a carpenter, school bus driver for many years, farmer, barber, and a graduate of Needmore High School. Jerry enjoyed farming and working with horses; he took his Clydesdale horses and wagon to parades and weddings. He enjoyed traveling out west and loved his children, grandchildren, and greatgrandchildren.

Jerry was a member of Hillcrest Christian Church and a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

His parents and stepson, Mark Stigall, preceded him in death.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 14, at Hillcrest Christian Church with Pastor Charles Scott officiating.  Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Friday and from 10:00 a.m. until the service on Saturday at the church.

    I really enjoyed the times I got to spend with Jerry it was always something new that I learned from him. One time I asked if I could hire him to come to Donica church with his horses and he said no!!! But I will come and do it free. He told me that was the church he got saved in. Thank you Jerry.
