MITCHELL – Joe Malcolm Stevens, 79, passed away Monday, July 12, 2021, at Indiana University Health Hospice House in Bloomington.

Born November 23, 1941, in Mitchell, he was the son of Robert B. and Mildred L. (Duncan) Stevens.  He married Rita J. Kimble on November 11, 1961.

Joe worked several years at Roberts Brass before retiring after 20 plus years from Lehigh Cement Company. He was a 1959 graduate of Mitchell High School.  Joe farmed most of his life. After retirement, he spent most of his time restoring tractors and going to tractor shows. Joe loved his family.

His parents and brother, Robert Stevens, preceded him in death.

Graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 17, at Liberty Christian Cemetery in Orleans with Brother Jerry Allen officiating.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center
