MITCHELL– John Cecil Knight, 88, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2020, at Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital.

Born July 5, 1931, in Mitchell, he was the son of John Charles and Ruth (Phillips) Knight.

John retired from General Electric.  He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War.  John was a member of American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.

Gayle (Randy) Terrell of Mitchell
great nieces and nephews


His parents; siblings, Frederick Eugene Knight, Leslie Knight, and Helen Knight, and great nieces, Leslie Chambers, Eva Knight, and Terri Knight, preceded him in death.

Graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, at Mitchell Cemetery with Brother Jim Russell officiating.  Military honors will be accorded by American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. – 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday at Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center.

    Gayle, we are going to miss JC going up and down Meridian Road, he always enjoyed the ride .We seen for the past year you helped him out ,he still wanted that drive. He we miss missed by all that knew him.
