MITCHELL – Judy Ann Ellis, 78, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2024, at IU Health Bedford Hospital.
Born October 6, 1946, in Anderson, she was the daughter of Herman M. and Edith Juanita (Edwards) Miller. Judy married Don C. Ellis on January 28, 1977 and he survives.
Judy worked at the Mitchell License Branch. She was a collector of antiques and was the co-owner of Orleans Antiques. Judy was also a passionate artist. She was a member of the American Legion Post No. 250 Auxiliary. Judy was a member of the Mitchell Wesleyan Church. Mamaw Tritrot was an amazing grandmother and great-grandmother.
Surviving are her husband, Don C. Ellis of Mitchell; children, Jim (Angie) Tomlinson of Mitchell, Mike (Dawnetta) Atchison of Mitchell, Jay (Machelle) Tomlinson of Bloomington, Jon (Lee Ann) Tomlinson of St. Charles, Missouri, Tony (Marcy) Ellis of Mitchell, and Candace (Brad) Robertson of Seymour; grandchildren, Jessica (A.J.) Shelton of Mitchell, Ian Tomlinson of North Carolina, Caleb Smales of Mitchell, Marcus (Aloma) Atchison of Navarre, Florida, Zach Atchison of Mitchell, Jaymie (Ryan) Terry of Bedford, Justin (Ginger) Tomlinson of Mitchell, Sarah (Edwin) Ayala-Reyes of England, Alex Tomlinson of Vincennes, Kelcey (Ally) Byers of St. Charles, Missouri, Andrew (Taylor) Tomlinson of Mitchell, Joel (Emily) Tomlinson of Las Vegas, Nevada, Victoria (C.J.) Fields of Mitchell, Benjamin Ellis of New Albany, Cody Williams of Brownstown, and Kaitlyn Williams of Brownstown; 19 great-grandchildren; brother, Herman Miller; and in-laws, Marilyn (Don) Tirey of Oolitic, Becky (Ronnie) Pierce of Mitchell, Eddie (Linda) Ellis of Mitchell, and Sue McPherson of Mitchell.
Her parents; granddaughter, Jana Lynn Tomlinson; three brothers; and two sisters, preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 12, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Reverend Wesley Jones officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.
