OOLITIC– Karena Dawn Allen, 46, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2022, at IU Health West Hospital in Avon.

Born April 18, 1975, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Larry and Penny (Hicks) Ashcraft.  Karena married Roy Allen in 2013.

Karena was a graduate of Ivy Tech and a sales associate.  She enjoyed her work and loved her dogs. Karena was of the Christian faith.

                             children, Derrick (Shaily Saucerman) Eisele of Mitchell

                                            Devin Jamison of Mitchell

                                            Linda (Zane Parks) Jamison of Mitchell

                              stepson, Clayton Allen of Columbus

       mother and stepfather, Penny and Alan Pridemore of Mitchell

        father and stepmother, Larry and Carolyn Ashcraft

                    grandchildren, Kharsin Eisele, Kolten Eisele, Hadleigh Eisele, and Nova

                                 sister, Teri Lewis of Ball Ground, Georgia

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 10, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Pastor Dwight Dunbar officiating.  Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:30 a.m. until the service on Thursday at the funeral home.

    I am in shock. I just came across something on fb about Karena a few minutes ago. My junior high best friend, we were keepers of many of one another's teenage secrets. I wish we had talked more often than once or twice a year in recent times. I don't know what caused this but whatever it was, it happened way too soon.

    Alan and Penny Jo and Family- We are all heartbroken as were Aaron and Candace and their 2 boys and all others were in notification, we were sorry Karena Allen passed away this Weekend. And we will pray for her Family, as will our Churches, may she rest in peace heavenly.

    Alan and Penny. Writing "so sorry for your loss," seems to be not enough at times like these. I am afraid that's all I can offer as I cannot imagine the pain of losing a child. Please know however I will keep you and your daughter's soul in my prayers. The only regret I have about leaving Mitchell is not being there to offer comfort to friends at times like this.
