SEYMOUR Kenneth H. “Kenny” Childers, beloved husband, father, and grandfather has gone to see the Lord on May 1, 2010. He was so dearly loved by everyone that knew him. He loved to mushroom hunt, fish, NASCAR, IU, and anything that involved being with his wife, six kids, seventeen grandkids, and two great-grandchildren. He so loved the Lord and was ready to be with him.
He was survived by his wife of 51 years, Theresa, six childrenAnthony (Lisa) Childers, Dawn Childers, Brigid (Tim) Jarnagin, Shannon (Rita) Childers, Mike (Tonya) Childers and Spring (Rex) Kiefer. His seventeen grandchildren are Christopher (fiance Kendyl), Sarah and Ethan Childers, Cheryl (Ben) Bell, Michelle Nichalson, Sean, Shane and Shaena Weddel, Jonathan, Jordan and Jenna Jarnagin, Joshua (fiance Michelle), Jacob, and Joseph Childers, Shacara (Tanner) Hagemier, Branden and Dustin Kiefer, and two great grandchildren, Benjamin and Brooklyn Bell. He was also survived by his sister, Karen Elaine (Dave) Pogue.
He was born June 3, 1939, in Mitchell to Harold Solon and Edith (Cook) Childers. He married Theresa M. Cummings September 10, 1958. His parents and infant brother, Larry D. Childers, preceded him in death.
He was a retired meat cutter and was last employed at Wal-Mart. Kenny graduated from Mitchell High School in 1958 and Indiana State University in 1965.
A Celebration of Life will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, May 7, in the Recreation Hall atSt. Ambrose Parish in Seymour. A private family burial was in Mitchell Cemetery.
