BEDFORD – Larry B. Allen, 64, Bedford, passed away at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, July 28, 2005, at Bloomington Hospital.
Born February 21, 1941, in Mitchell, he was the son of Paul Edward “Ted” and Regina Mae “Jean” (Allen) Allen. He married Cathy J. Tolbert June 2, 1973, and she survives.
He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University and a Master of Science degree from Ball State University. He began his teaching career at Oak Hill High School in Marion, Indiana, and had also been football coach and athletic director at Mitchell High School, and freshman basketball coach, football coach, and track coach at Jeffersonville High School. He retired from Bedford-North Lawrence High School where he was a teacher and coach of football and track. He was a member of the Indiana Retired Teachers Association.
He was a NASCAR fan and a member of the Alabama Football Fan Club. He was well on his way to visiting every college football stadium in the nation.

His parents preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 1, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with Brother Jerry Allen officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday and from 9:00 a.m. until the service on Monday at the funeral home.
