MITCHELL — Larry Steven Sallee, 62, Mitchell, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, December 6, 2009.
Born October 23, 1947, in Bedford, he was the son of James and Magdaline (Brown) Sallee. He married Linda L. Ross of Orleans on November 10, 1967.
He served in the U.S. Army and the Indiana National Guard and was a member of the Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250. Larry was a volunteer firefighter for Marion Township Rural Fire Department and Orange County Rural District No. 2.
He was a life long member of the Mitchell Church of Christ and a 1965 graduate of Mitchell High School.

His parents, a baby sister, grandparents, and several aunts and uncles preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 10, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with Brother Allen Burris officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Orleans with military honors accorded by Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250 and Marvin R. Davis Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.
Family and friends may call from 3:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:30 a.m. until the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
