INDIANAPOLIS – Laura Ann McNeely, 83, formerly of Mitchell, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2026, at her residence.
Born September 27, 1942, in Paoli, she was the daughter of Rolla Wade and Hester Ellisteen (Parish) Underwood. Laura married Johnny L. McNeely on March 11, 1964 and he preceded her in death January 12, 2005.
Laura was a 1960 graduate of Orleans High School and retired from Child Craft Industries. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, old Westerns, and especially spending time with her family.
Surviving are her children, Morgan (Francey) McNeely of Bedford, J. Benjamin McNeely of Indianapolis, Oliver McNeely of Bedford, Amy (Byron) Amaya of Indianapolis, and Andrew McNeely of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Araina Pavone and Cameron McNeely; great-grandchild, Raylon Pavone; and siblings, Leatha Gardner of Shepherdsville, Kentucky and Steve Underwood of Bedford.
Her parents; husband; grandson, Dumon McCain; and siblings, Rebecca Mae Underwood and Jim Underwood, preceded her in death.
Graveside service will be at 1:15 p.m., Thursday, January 15, at Mitchell Cemetery with Brother Greg Isom officiating.
