MITCHELL – Linda May Brumfield, 77, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2021, at Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born February 27, 1944, in Mitchell, she was the daughter of Ernest and Lucille (Green) McPike.  She married Joshua Bullitt Brumfield August 30, 1963, and he preceded her in death January 31, 2015.

Linda was a homemaker and had worked security at General Motors.  She attended the First Church of God and was a 1962 graduate of Mitchell High School.

Linda was a loving mother and nana to her family.  She enjoyed taking care of her beloved pets.

Julie Lynn (Dale) Steinke of Louisville, Kentucky
Laura Rogers of Yulee, Florida
Brooke Blackwell of Mitchell
grandchildren,
Andrew Kanach, Conner Blackwell, and Kylee Blackwell

Her parents and husband preceded her in death.

Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 5, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Dr. Robert C. Courson, Jr. officiating.  Burial will be in Lawrenceport Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the service on Friday at the funeral home.

    Sorry to learn of Linda’s passing. She & I became friends in Miss Bixler’s first grade class @ Riley Elementary. Linda always stood out as verified by our first grade class picture. She exceeded the height of most of the rest of us! Graduated together in MHS class of’62. Lifting Linda & her loved ones up in prayer. God bless!
