MITCHELL – Linda Sue Gray, 71, passed away Thursday, December 9, 2021, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.

Born May 8, 1950, in Greene County, she was the daughter of Matilda Goble “MG Buck” and Charolette Ruth (Hall) Houtchings.  She married Gary Smith July 13, 2018, and he preceded her in death April 7, 2019.

Linda was a 1968 graduate of Eastern Greene High School and loved the outdoors and fishing.  She was of the Christian faith.

Surviving:             sons, Karl Edward (Ami) Payton of Mitchell

                                      Kenneth Robert (Dorothea Endicott) Thompson of Mitchell

                           fiancé, Stanley Eitutis of Radcliff, Kentucky

                         brother, James Franklin (Loretta) Houtchings of Needmore

Her parents and siblings, Matilda Ruth Kidd, Edna Sears, Milldred Jean New, and Robert Houtchings, preceded her in death.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.  Wednesday, December 15, at Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center.  Following cremation, burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.

    Linda was one of my favorite aunts. Loved her with all my heart. So glad I got to see her one last time at Kenny's home a few months back. My heart goes out to Kenny and Carl. You will be missed by all who loved you Linda. I know you are with god, surrounded by all the angles and family. RIP dear Linda.
