MITCHELL – Loeda Pearl Mundy, 84, passed away Thursday, April 2, 2020, at Indiana University Health Paoli Hospital.
Born August 19, 1935, in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Doan S. and Lela “Agnes” (Barlow) Williams. She married Knofel Vance Mundy June 27, 1953, and he preceded her in death April 29, 2017.
Loeda graduated from Huron High School in the Class of 1953 and loved attending the annual alumni banquets. She was a member of the Bedford First Church of God and sang in the church choir for many years. Loeda was a hairstylist; she owned and operated a salon in her home in Huron, Mitchell, and Bedford.
Survivors include her children, Kim (Phil) Johnson and Jeff (Susan) Mundy; grandchildren, Megan (Danny) Gillespie, Jayne Grider, Alyson Grider, and Michael Mundy; step grandchildren, Debbie Kerr and Steve Johnson; three great grandchildren; five step great grandchildren; brother, Gerald Williams; sister-in-law, Janelle Grissom; and several nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved.
Her parents; husband, Knofel Mundy; sister, Velma (Lee) Thompson; brother, Bill (Evelyn) Williams; sisters-in-law, Charlene Williams and Charlotte White; and brother-in-law, Nelson Mundy, preceded her in death.
Reverend Trent Freed officiated at a private graveside service on Saturday, April 4, at Cresthaven Memory Gardens.
