MITCHELL – Lois Marie Terrell, 89, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2026, at Redcrest Hospice House.

Born August 10, 1936, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Earl and Mildred “Marie” (Bell) Ratliff.  She married Burl R. Terrell, Jr. on March 17, 1953 and he preceded her in death September 15, 2021.

Lois was the bookkeeper for B & L Auto Repair, which she and her husband owned.  She loved gardening and taking care of her flowers.  She will always be remembered as a loving grandmother.  Lois was a longtime member and faithful servant of Spice Valley Baptist Church.

Surviving are her daughter, Sharon Terrell of Mitchell; grandchildren, Adam Terrell, Jason (Britt) Ball, Julie (Jeff) Huntsman, Shannon (Ashley) Terrell, Michael Terrell, and Kimberly (Charles) Terrell; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Ronald Earl (Sharon) Ratliff of Ft. Myers, Florida, Patricia Ann Arnold of Mitchell, Kenneth Eugene Ratliff of Bedford, Margaret Ellen Pluris of Florida, and Charles Edward (Kathy) Ratliff of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

Her parents; husband; son, Terry Terrell; and siblings, James Lewis Ratliff, Richard Joseph Ratliff, and Linda Kay Ratliff, preceded her in death.

Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 16, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Pastor Roger Allen officiating.  Burial will be in Spice Valley Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the service on Thursday at the funeral home.

    I remember her as a church member at Woodville Baptist Church . Her and Husband business . And was a relative until Donnie and Linda divorced. She always had a smile and a kind word. Anita Holt Browne Mary and Menlo Holt daughter
