MITCHELL – Louise Mae Allen, 96, passed away Saturday, October 10, 2020, at Westview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Bedford.

Born March 20, 1924, in Mitchell, she was the daughter of Orval and Mary Ellen (Phillips) Brim.  She married Ray Fredrick Allen June 2, 1940, and he preceded her in death March 23, 1976.

Louise and Ray owned and operated the Seahorse Motel in Daytona Beach, Florida, for many years. She also worked at Hoosier Uplands and was a safer aide at Burris School. She attended the Mitchell Church of the Nazarene.

Louise was a loving mother and grandmother and was always taking care of kids. She loved bowling, reading, crossword puzzles, music, and plays.

Her parents; husband; sons, Hugh Phillip Allen and Mark Garner Allen; and brothers, James T. Brim and Charles Ray Brim, preceded her in death.

Graveside service will be at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 13, at Knott Cemetery with Pastor Marvin Adams officiating.

    Sad to hear this for the family. I had her as a SAFER aide when I was in elementary school. She was always so nice, even when my brother would cause trouble. She and the other ladies would teach and play card and board games and what not with us until our parents came and got us after school.
