WESTMINSTER, MARYLAND — Marcia (Jenkins) Baker, 66, of Westminister, formerly of Mitchell, passed away on Monday, March 8, 2010, after a brief fight with cancer.
Born February 7, 1944, in Bedford, she was the daughter of William and Mary Frances (Hardman) Jenkins.
She graduated from Mitchell High School in 1962, was a member of Gamma Epsilon Chapter of Tri Kappa, and attended the Mitchell Presbyterian Church.
Marcia was the beloved mother of Michelle and Brent Baker. She was also the devoted grandmother of Cameron and Carson Baker, sister of Jim and Mary Ann Jenkins of Bedford, and Dan and Michelle Jenkins of Bedford, and mother- in- law to Pam Baker of Winchester, West Virginia, and Mike Levine of Westminster, Maryland. She was a special aunt to Michael, Brian, Mark, Jesse and Matthew Jenkins, and a great aunt to Blake, Brock, Hailey, and Austin Jenkins. She is also survived by Hardman cousins.
Marcia was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Gary Baker of Winter Spring, Florida.
She always had a quick smile, a kind word and a gentle touch for all who knew her. She will be sorely missed and we will carry her graceful spirit with us always.
A memorial service will be at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, March 13, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until the service.
